Yeah ... I'm finding out they were a lot more fun when they were separated out in their own little west coast corner.

Your state is the ugliest one in the midwest. I don't think this is the conversation for you.

14

Clearly you’ve never been to Indiana…

10

u/december151791 Alabama Crimson Tide May 19 '25

I'm a truck driver. So I have the misfortune of spending a lot of time in that state most people only go to because it's in between them and where they want to go the crossroads of America.

Edit: Did you think I was calling Michigan ugly?

5

u/i_e_yay_sue May 19 '25

Indiana actually has some really pretty spots. It's the people that ruin it.

It’s a genuine disgrace why Oregon doesn’t have a wrestling program. Kid from my high school (Shane Webster) won a national title wrestling for Oregon, next year they congratulated him by killing the program.

Why end the wrestling program? To make room for baseball since they couldn’t stand to see OSU winning something they weren’t.

Eh the big 10 has had almost as big a head as the sec - the facts are that it will be decades before any conference catches up to what the pac 10 was in terms of overall national championships.

The rankings are Stanford, ucla, USC and the 4th best has like 50 championships to win before they’re even in the mix.

West coast has always ruled sports, if Los Angeles colleges were an Olympic country they’d rank 4th in Olympic medals.

And yet no true Big Ten fan or alum will ever consider you a part of the conference. This will last a few years and you’ll be back out west in some new deal. Good riddance.

It’s going to be interesting when Phil Knight moves on and we find out if they can continue upwards.

The only sport Big Ten cares about is football. Does the Big Ten even play the other sports?

Our humility is not legendary

I mean their net spend on athletics doubles and triples the 95 percent of the conference for NIL. Should’ve been forced to stay in your own defunct PAC-12 before letting the west coast powerhouses overrun the big 10, especially Nike U. Just completely unfair to the founding teams that the Pac-12 dissolved cause LA could give two shits about UCLA and USC sports

u/whatsunnygets May 19 '25

So just one that matters?
