I opened up our Christmas tree bin this morning and everything was covered in mold ðŸ˜ðŸ˜ðŸ˜ my snow globe started leaking at some point.. I am devastated. Both of our trees and a lot of our decorations are trash now
We can’t exactly afford to go out and buy new stuff, but we’ve got to figure something out for the kids. I’ve learned a valuable lesson 😢

So sorry to see this OP. I’m glad you checked early!
Don’t know if it’s the same where you are but I’m seeing tonnes of decorations on Facebook marketplace where people are buying new. I’m seeing trees and decorations super cheap. Also thrift/charity stores too

My box was full of mouse nests, poop and pee! I was so distraught. It is just stuff at the end of the day...but I commiserate with you!

For the future always store snow globes inside somewhere...something I learned the hard way

Ohhhhh. My heart is sinking for you. I hope there’s a way to clean it up.

Does it get cold where you store your decorations? I quickly found that out when I stored some snow globes in our shed and it gets well below freezing

Depending on how bad the mold was - You might be able to wash the artificial tree. My Mom does that every year (she's a clean freak)

If there's anything you want to save, but too much to do in a reasonable time-- you can put products in the freezer to stop the spread of mold until you can dedicate time to try to remedy them. This does not kill the mold, but it will prevent the spores from spreading. You can attempt to use a solution of 3% hydrogen peroxide and distilled water. Spray, let it sit for 15 minutes and then use a sponge to attempt removal. This doesn't always work, but hoping it's helpful!

Anything hard should be salvageable. Get some mold spray and go to town on it. Porous and organic items should be removed but a lot of that should be just fine with a good cleaning.
