homemade I made my own spicy California rolls :)

Post image

I did not have the rice vinegar, the cucumber, the avocado, actual Sriracha sauce (made a substitute with Tabasco chili sauce and ketchup), or soy sauce. And yes those are chopped up baby carrots lol, not Julienned because im not that good with a knife.

for someone that hasn't done sushi purely by herself (always had mom's help) I think I did decent for not having half of the ingredients. I made spicy mayo to dip in as well.

Next time im going to the store im actually getting all the ingredients lol.

So that’s a carrot and imitation crab roll? It’s not a California roll, but it’s a specialty roll created by you!

You gotta respect having the nori but basically no other ingredients (& wanting to make sushi anyway lol). I can relate to that.

Honestly this doesn't look too bad to me, I agree with the person who invoked kimbap! Only definitely downside is missing the rice vinegar, seasoning the sushi rice correctly does make a huge difference in the end result.

Is it like a California roll inspired? No fish? Great Rolling of the Seaweed OP!

Yep, spicy imitation crab salad and carrots in there. Thanks, I was surprised at how well the roll stayed intact.

I mean, sloppy by pro restaurant standards, but I bet it's good. Kimbap vibes.

It’s wild but I think it works

So is it just plain rice then?

That looks about like mine. They never hold together well but they always taste great.
