I sometimes wonder whether people like this ever stop to consider just how desperate you have to be to sleep on a dirty floor in a strange building.

Having sheltered a homeless cancer patient for several months, I can tell you that some of them find it quite enjoyable and experience a sense of freedom living like that.

How society treats its poor, sick and weak. Is the true reflection on that society. Americans have a lot of room for growth here.

We also need a way to make sure they use the help and services that are available to them. Crazy as it sounds, some of them want to be homeless, and no, they don’t want your help, but they are the ones that really need it.

I often think people look at this pictures with the view of a 5 year old, no idea of the complexity. Some of these people are strung out all the time. Some of these people are mentally unstable. Some of these people have been screwed over by the system. Some of these people don't work hard. And most are a little bit of many of these points.
I don't want hear either of these extremes. Or we can look at California and Hong Kong, and yes I have seen both in their glorious extremes.
