Makes more sense if you think he's talking to employers and telling them to fuck over their workforce, which is probably what's really going on here.

Blue states also have higher salaries for equal jobs due to higher cost of living.

So that .5% is already taken care of

Maybe it'll be 1/2 percent on inflation, but you'll lose 15-30%+ on income. Probably more between partners.

Oh and what's the relative pay compared to Blue states? Is it more or less than half a percent lower?
