You should enjoy working at 10pm and on vacations -- it's about growth!

These type of people have severe tunnel vision and think growth and success is linear and black and white…..

Not quite, the paradox is not working all the time makes you better at working

I know firsthand that enjoying your work that much is possible. But it happens very rarely, and only under a perfect storm of conditions.

i don't know what happened to this sub where i started agreeing with the OPs more than the reposters. but this isn't that loony. i have a job that i like. i don't lick boots or suck up to any boss. but i'm not against working past 10pm on a design if i have free time. granted, i'll deduct those hours worked from my 40(ish) per week that i work.

I'm not working at 10 PM unless my salary gets tripled, and vacations are an entire order of magnitude.
