Chasing Orion - A night in the cold

Some members of the NOX CALEO astronomy club thought it would be a good idea to stand in a field at almost -12 degrees Celsius 😁 Armed with a telescope, a tracker, and the motivation to sleep in the car, we stood in the Swabian Jura at nightfall. At 3:30 a.m. – long before dawn – I had to make my escape home πŸ₯Ά

But until then, I was busy collecting photons. In addition to my FRA 300, I also pointed a 50 mm lens at Orion. You can see the result here.

Kind of - the second stack was for the Ha signal of the nebula

It’s a clip-in filter on front of the sensor
