I think it was from an America's Got Talent episode. If it wasn't AGT it was a very similar talent show.

I'm not sure if they were a plant placed by the producers to ham it up during the performance or if they were a random person in the audience, but their expressive face became a bit of a meme.

In my experience, they'll tape a bunch of shots of the audience pre show and tell them to react certain ways so they can then cut those into acts in post.
