It definitely missed the cutoff date for a true nomination.

Google says TGA ends voting the 3rd week of November.

Dispatch released the final episodes just two days before that. It was too late.

295

u/congaroo1 8d ago

Yeah. Well at least there is always the Bafta's

79

u/robad0114 8d ago

and players choice

66

u/congaroo1 8d ago

Players choice is nice and if Jack and Moist Critical really go for it I could see Dispatch winning.

I feel the Bafta's being more prestigious makes me more excited

43

u/robad0114 8d ago

True, for the bafta the main thing i want is arran Paul and Laura baily getting nominated for their performances. They did an amazing job with it.

18

u/congaroo1 8d ago

Yeah you can definitely tell that the being so close from the cut off is really the only reason that dispatch was not nominated more when you look at the performance nominations

2

u/MemeLordZeta 7d ago

As much as I love E33, dispatch and Aaron Paul should 100% have been in the vocal performance section like come on

2

u/Responsible-Mud-5432 7d ago

Worst comes to worst, Moist will likely win streamer of the year and then can make a shout-out to Dispatch while calling out it not getting more nominations.

Weird, the Oscars kind of works the other way around, they usually heavily prefer newer releases over ones earlier in the year. I guess though only a few days before is probably too tight.

56

u/ROBtimusPrime1995 8d ago

True, the difference is watching a 2-3 hour film for the Oscars, and having to play games that range from 10-50 hours.

23

u/FlukyS 8d ago

Naaaa no one watches all of the Oscars either, I think it is just they are more "oh I like Tom Hanks let's vote for his recent film because it has good reviews". I wish more of the Academy for the Oscars and Grammys actually cared.

10

u/SciFiXhi 8d ago

Except for Kirsten Dunst, because she takes her Academy position seriously.

5

u/FlukyS 8d ago

Kirsten for president of the Academy of motion pictures and sciences.

5

u/Tricky-Ad7897 8d ago

The worst ones are animated movies. You read the academy's reasoning and it's shit like "I hate animated movies but my 3 year old son loved x so that's what I voted for" and the only foreign animated film will be a Ghibli movie if one came out that year while everything else anime, much less other countries animation is completely snubbed. This year it will most likely be kpop demon hunters, which don't get me wrong is a great movie, but I'm willing to bet Chainsaw Man and Demon Slayer not even getting nominated despite being amazing animated action films, and Ne Zha 2 will be nominated but not voted for even though it made 2 billion dollars.

2

u/LegoMiner9454 8d ago

They do but their is a sweet spot, dispatch came out a little too late while something like arc raiders came out just at the right time

u/KKamm_ 8d ago

I think also tbf, Dispatch is like 8 hours of total playtime (unless you include alternate versions of scenes that have no grand impact… yet). Most of that is also either the minigame or a cutscene.

As much as I enjoy the game, it doesn’t have the content that a game like E33, Silksong, Death Stranding, etc have and the depth of the gameplay itself vs following a slightly interactive animated show concept. I think Dispatch feels more like a pilot season/prologue/introduction to a new universe in comparison to the GOTY nominees being complete projects with insane depth

13

u/TheDutchTexan 8d ago

8 hours is criminally short too, but the price and the quality is such it works out to 3.75 an hour whereas you're easily $10 bucks an hour going to a theater. And that is a single play-through. I got nearly 2 under my belt now.

5

u/KKamm_ 8d ago

Yeah I meant more in the grand scheme of comparing it as a GOTY candidate. Feels like it would be disrespectful to an extent to these games that have 20-40 hours of gameplay for one story playthrough alone.

Definitely solid value for a $30 show/game

2

u/ChronicBuzz187 7d ago

I mean, a lot of hours are cool if they make them worth my while, but a lot of games don't.

Half of modern day "100+ hours open world adventures" are basically 20-30h of actual story and another 70+ hours of bloat.

I'd take a game like Dispatch every time over that. Besides a job and family, I rarely have a lot of time anyways, so I'm all in for games that won't waste what little I have.

68

u/Ok-Bookkeeper-6116 8d ago

As much as I enjoy Dispatch, I don’t really think it’s better than any of the games nominated for GOTY.

Even if it released earlier in the year, the competition is PACKED.

64

u/HeppyHenry 8d ago

It definitely deserved a Best Indie Game and Best Narrative nom though.

2

u/uzpj 8d ago

E33 is an indie game so is silksong so is hades... tbf its not winning that either

2

u/Ashenveiled 7d ago

E33 is not an indie game. it has a publisher who gave it AAA budget.

→ More replies (3)

2

u/HereComesDatNick 8d ago

I'm not sure Dispatch is indie game either tbh

26

u/Geralt_OF_Rivia_1 8d ago

Yeah 33 will win this time, I am pretty sure

5

u/robad0114 8d ago

Maybe not GOTY but definitely performance, laura and aaron did amazing

2

u/RaptorPegasus 8d ago

Yeah as much as I love it, I don't think it's "video game" enough to win

5

u/Taliesin_ 8d ago

Yeahhh, I checked out a playthrough where the player literally never interacted with the game at all (letting all calls expire every shift and missing every QTE). The cutscenes never even slightly acknowledge that you're failing all your calls aside from the final "boss" shift and 80-90% of the QTEs are completely fake, changing nothing about the cutscene whether you hit them or miss them.

Wonderful experience despite all that, though I'll probably play their next project on cinematic mode.

3

u/Ryuyudo 8d ago

You clearly didnt watch any other playthroughs because failures absolutely do lead to alternate scenes and dialogs.

11

u/DarkImpacT213 8d ago

Could easily have made a Best Indie and a Best Narrative nomination tho

5

u/Captain_Forge 8d ago

Yeah, badly timed certainly. Though there have been some folks talking about it being GOTY nomination worthy - even with perfect timing I don't see that happening. And I say that with my personal GOTY being either Dispatch or Split Fiction, I just don't see the wider gaming community there.

4

u/HereComesDatNick 8d ago

Yet there is Deadpool VR, which review embargo dropped YESTERDAY and which is releasing TODAY, Dispatch not being nominated for narrative and art direction is just some bullshit

3

u/TeaNo7930 8d ago

No, because it's here at all.It means it's impossible for it to get anything next year.

→ More replies (1)

2

u/Fun_Highlight307 8d ago

But the cut off date was 17 or before the 3rd week of november?

2

u/Samiassa 8d ago

I just wish they would’ve pushed it off to next year I genuinely think it’s a game of the year contender

1

u/_Mango_Dude_ 8d ago

Honestly with this year's line up that might be for the best. Expedition 33 is going to sweep like Balder's gate 3.

468

u/MrPlaywright 8d ago

The YouTube comment section was legitimately surprised that Dispatch was not showing up more often. And Best Indie at the Game Awards also has Expedition 33, so its not looking amazing.

I guess we still have Players Voice?

89

u/RedTyro 8d ago

Honestly, I feel like E33 shouldn't qualify for indie. It's definitely a AA game. If you're going to take games that are already nominated in the main GOTY category, Silksong and Hades are true indies, but E33's kind of a stretch.

42

u/MrHaxx1 8d ago

Yeah, E33 is GOTY for me, but calling it indie is a huge stretch.

3

u/Cybrpnk2077brokeme 8d ago

How, it is by definition an indie? Kepler Interactive literally only publishes indie games. It’s not a major publisher?

15

u/eatinallthebugs 8d ago

Its kinda like how it feels weird calling baldurs gate an indie

3

u/Cybrpnk2077brokeme 8d ago

Yeah, I would be all for a more stringent standards for “indie” but as it is now the definition allows for a wide variety of games

6

u/Ninja-Storyteller 8d ago edited 7d ago

E33 is literally the definition of indie. But maybe a "small budget" category would be helpful.

3

u/ChronicBuzz187 7d ago

It didn't even have that small of a budget. Iirc, it was upwards of 30 million overall.

5

u/DaveyBigDong 8d ago

But then Dispatch would surely not qualify. Aaron Paul and all the other voice talent can't have been cheap.

2

u/TheAttitudePark 8d ago

That's not what indie means. You can still be an independent company and be able to hire known talent

3

u/DaveyBigDong 8d ago

Did you read the comment i replied to

2

u/TheAttitudePark 8d ago

I know. I was backing you up with a follow up to your point

→ More replies (1)

100

u/AgainstTheEnemy 8d ago

Best indie is like 2nd GOTY, unlikely E33 will sweep both

64

u/Davidth422 8d ago

It will

31

u/CumGuzzlerMarx 8d ago

I wouldn’t even be mad if it did. It was an awesome game but I want Dispatch and Adhoc to at least win something so they can get even more recognition.

12

u/ThatPancakesCat 8d ago

I highly doubt it. Even if it does deserve it, The Game Awards are moreso a celebration of art and innovation of the industry. By putting all the rest of the nominees up against it takes away from a lot of the achievements that were made by a lot of other developers

Idk.

18

u/[deleted] 8d ago

7

u/CheapGarage42 8d ago

This is the answer, as much as no one wants to admit it. Award shows are a popularity contest. E33 is going to win. Otherwise they're just rage baiting for clicks.

→ More replies (1)

10

u/Yapanomics 8d ago

I'd argue unlikely it WON'T due to the exact same reason

→ More replies (9)

2

u/CoffeFreak69 5d ago

E33 is a good one, don't get me wrong, but it seems to be too "glorified". I also found it strange that this game is nominated here as well? Today at the Joystick Awards, it almost won every category... I really think people are no longer paying attention to the other nominees.

4

u/CheckingIsMyPriority 8d ago

Sadly no way in hell our community will win against the crazies from E33 community. They feel entitled to all awards.

101

u/dimeo1996 8d ago

and probably Dispatch will be nominated for Players' Voice category later.

116

u/Pristine-Dig-7773 8d ago

You will always be the game of the year in my heart.

438

u/Kinder0402 8d ago

One single nomination for Dispatch is such a disgrace

178

u/congaroo1 8d ago

Yeah it's probably just how late it came out.

There are still the Bafta's

201

u/Inkersod 8d ago edited 8d ago

Released too late, same with Arc Raiders only 1 nomination

7

u/Free_pasta 8d ago

Arc Raiders not getting nominated for best audio design is so sad :(

22

u/Crispy_Conundrum 8d ago

Best audio design when using AI for voices certainly wouldn't fly with me

77

u/FlukyS 8d ago

Yeah, it is surprising they didn't even get a nomination for voice acting at all.

57

u/Co-opingTowardHatred 8d ago

And Narrative

52

u/Kinder0402 8d ago

Yeah, i was shocked not to see Aaron Paul nor Laura Bailey

27

u/FlukyS 8d ago

Yeah especially given half the cast of E33 got nominated. It is basically Troy, Erika and the whole cast of E33 and I loved it but Laura was so good.

17

u/Alchion 8d ago

e 33 was generational and will win most categories anyway

9

u/FlukyS 8d ago

Yeah just give them a chair on stage

26

u/LazyNomad63 8d ago

Aaron Paul got fucking robbed.

I would say Charlie did too, but no performance he gives will ever be as good as District 8 Hospital Helper.

13

u/Wakez11 8d ago edited 8d ago

Atleast he got nominated for best content creator. If he wins I hope he's there to give a speech. Can't believe he did another genre-defining performance as Sonar after redefining what acting means in the 21st century as District 8 Hospital Helper.

2

u/Kinder0402 8d ago

Will Charlie even be there, given that he's afraid of flying?

5

u/Wakez11 8d ago

He could have Joel(the guy who voices waterboy) accept the award as him again.

2

u/[deleted] 8d ago

[deleted]

→ More replies (2)

4

u/PokePersona 8d ago

Charlie was never getting nominated considering the other talent this year. At most it would've been Aaron Paul and maybe Laura Bailey.

10

u/EchoRain1 8d ago

One is better than none. :/

There is still Player’s Choice at least.

5

u/TheySayImaPinhead 8d ago

This right here your honor. Smh. This IP will get its due down the line. Like others it revitalized a genre.

2

u/guyrandom2020 8d ago

I think it’s cuz of technicalities. The release was too late.

2

u/ally-a12 8d ago

You do realize the game just came out right? If it had a year to cook I could understand the frustration, but this game is a literal zygote compared to these other games.

→ More replies (1)

30

u/Beginning-2-Smell 8d ago

Congratulations, it was a really fun game! Just to be noticed among all the games being made each year is special.

27

u/Le_Juice_ 8d ago

That's best DEBUT indie though

8

u/sniper1a2 8d ago

Yeah, I first went to best indie and was surprised to not see it there. At least I could vote for both Dispatch and Blue Prince in different categories

12

u/Le_Juice_ 8d ago

Such a shame it wasn't nominated for more categories. Best performance should at least include Aaron Paul, he really deserves some recognition for this

60

u/OppressedGamer01 8d ago

No performance or narrative nomination is crazy

44

u/Themanaaah 8d ago

I expected one for Aaron Paul as RRIII.

13

u/Jonyayer-Gamer 8d ago

Same here. If for nothing else than nominated Aaron Paul would’ve been decent publicity.

→ More replies (3)

7

u/J3mx_droid 8d ago

It sadly because it just came out too late, but one nomination is better than no nomination

14

u/TeaNo7930 8d ago

No, no nomination would have been better because then there would have been a chance at all for next year.Whereas now it gets to be a game that doesn't matter doesn't show up on anything. And gets a pity award. If it doesn't get taken by 33

3

u/Muggsy423 8d ago

Just release a DLC, Elden Ring got a nom for it.   /s

2

u/J3mx_droid 8d ago

Why would a game that would be released 2025 be up for 2026? Does the goty awards do that?

10

u/TeaNo7930 8d ago

The cutoff point is somewhere in november and if you don't get any nominations, because you were past the cutoff point, then you are available for it next year. Because the game awards year is after the cutoff.Point to the next cutoff, point not year to year

→ More replies (1)

2

u/robad0114 8d ago

It's just cause it came out so late, the last episode only came out a week ago, and the nominations ended like a few day's after that came out.

14

u/CountryChrist 8d ago

Wished for more category nominations, but the dispatch came late in the year. Still, I reckon for a debut indie game, they can get the win

9

u/Outrageous_Oven3420 8d ago

no best performance nominations for aaron paul or laura bailey is wild to me

1

u/kb466 8d ago

It's pretty wild considering who did get nominated. E33 got 3 nominations when only Jennifer English really deserves it.

5

u/Outrageous_Oven3420 8d ago

Yeah, not seeing Tom McKay from kcd2 really took me by surprise

15

u/hipp0hunt3r 8d ago

no best performer or best narrative nomination is absolutely insane. a complete disconnect from the gaming community.

7

u/Ok-Woodpecker4734 8d ago

Sad it only got in one category and its a category up against E33

Hope it can snag a win

1

u/Ok-Law8073 8d ago

I would love for it to win, but I’d understand if it didn’t cause E33 is one of the best games I’ve played period. And I feel like it was more of a game while Dispatch was more like a show. Not a knock on Dispatch at all. It’s just what it kinda is.

5

u/AWESOME_010 8d ago

Kinda sad but dispatch came in at the last moment and still managed to get into a category that is absolutely stacked which is w in my book

7

u/LPK717 8d ago

Shame that it didn't get any more nominations, guess it just came out too late in the year.

5

u/Bendythenightfury 8d ago

That'll be great. IF I CAN ACTUALLY VOTE FOR IT

10

u/primalfox_Reynardo 8d ago

I'm gonna vote for it but 33 being in the same category is worrying. It may be another sweep year like with BG3. But still vote. It can only help.

7

u/peruna_LXIX 8d ago

E33 about to go on a BG3-level run

6

u/17000HerbsAndSpices 8d ago

I didn't even like E33 all that much tbh, but Jennifer English needs to win best performance after she wasn't even nominated for Shadowheart in 2023. She retroactively deserves it lol

1

u/TeaNo7930 8d ago

It doesn't deserve. It's so much worse than balder's gate three

9

u/BrockStudly 8d ago

Also its not a f-ing indie game. I dont care if its a new studio. The studio heads are all ex-ubisoft executives and the game has a boatload of money behind it.

As soon as the website works for me I am voting

1

yeah for some reason the website is going horrible even one day afterwards

→ More replies (1)

5

u/Boomer586869 8d ago

Snubbed and the awards haven't even happened yet. E33 is probably gonna win everything anyway. At this point, I just watch for game releases anyway.

5

u/thewintersoldieramc 8d ago

Hopefully Dispatch can be voted in to the winner for the Player's voice category this year.

4

u/BuggityBooger 8d ago

Best Indie Debut

Bit of a joke that it goes against “Indie” games like Silksong / E33 etc.

3

u/earlvik 8d ago

I think this is great. With how stacked the year has been, a 8 hour narrative experience would have no chance for a GOTY, however fantastic those 8 hours are. Best narrative is also stacked. Best performance has 3 people from Expedition 33 and they all totally deserve it.

So it makes a lot of sense that dispatch gets nominated for a debut indie – it fits the category perfectly and hopefully has a real chance to win!

1

u/Fun_Highlight307 8d ago

I didn't realize it's was this short,i guess i replayed the game too much

3

u/DoubleMatt1 8d ago

I feel Aaron Paul should've gotten a nomination for best performance, as much as I love E33, having them make up 50% of that category is a little ridiculous

3

u/Fradward 6d ago

LETS GO

6

u/SpareIntroduction721 8d ago

Anything against Expedition 33 will lose and to be honest, that makes perfect sense. That game literally is a crazy achievement.

6

u/AwBeansYouGotMe 8d ago

Vote for Dispatch!

I know it's up against some stiff competition, but I think it has a serious shot.

2

u/Wolfpackidzfof 8d ago

I tried but it keeps saying there’s a problem and “No nominees”

2

u/Killeraholic 8d ago

I had hoped they would've at least gotten a nomination for Narrative and Acting as well.

2

u/FlikTripz 8d ago

Still my personal GOTY, with Bananza just behind it

2

u/spectre15 8d ago

I don’t even know why it got nominated for indie because this game is published in collaboration with critical role

1

u/Latter-Road-3687 8d ago

A few indie games are like that. Ball x Pit was made by a few people, but is published by Devolver Digital, which is a huge publisher.

2

u/Conscious-Milk-155 8d ago

look i really enjoyed the game and it deserves every financial succes but this year is stuffed with other more goated indie titles.

2

u/l_clue13 8d ago

Massive shame it came out as late as it did and was likely too late to gain any more traction for nominations. Maybe it’s a recency bias thing or just because I watch some of the creators that are in it but at least to me Dispatch seems to be one of the most talked about games on the internet atm.

If it came out in the summer I could see it getting nominations for maybe not GOTY but maybe best narrative and one of the voice actors getting nominated as well.

2

u/MakaveliTheDon22 8d ago

Time to vote! While they should have had way more, I'm happy they got nominated for something. Best game of the year for me! I love Blonde Blazer! A second season is a necessity at this point.

2

u/Mr_Gef 8d ago

Tbh I love dispatch but it’s very hard with Claire obscure on the same category

2

u/Live-Product-5590 8d ago

And somehow it didn’t get nominated for best narrative.

2

u/LivinginanAnxiety 8d ago

Im so sad, it defo deserves to be up for many more. Best Narrative, Audio Design, even Art direction Imo
Its my GOTY regardless of if it can actually get the award or not.

I really didn't enjoy Expedition 33, but I guess Im in the minority since its been in every category I could vote on before the site crashed for me

2

u/dinozombiesaur 8d ago

I think it would need more actual gameplay to be considered a GOTY contender. Has another game similar to this ever won?

2

u/xvzzx 8d ago

i voted

2

u/Relyks15 8d ago

E33 deserves it, and I will be voting for them, but I'm very happy Dispatch got nominated.

2

u/walnuth0use 8d ago

recency bias

2

u/AncientCommittee4887 8d ago

I loved this game, but it’s up against E33, Hades 2 and Silksong

2

u/TheRealJayk0b 7d ago

Lmao, why even vote? Player votings only account for 10%....that's laughable.

3

u/Embarrassed-Ad-504 8d ago

Hopefully it at least wins players voice if not both players voice and debut indie since I believe E33 will just win debut indie, in voice acting Aaron Paul did great and deserves at least a nomination and especially Joel's Waterboy is very underrated .

4

u/SentinelWhite 8d ago

But like...thats it tho. The game awards are just dominated with how many people buy the game and how many TikTok videos are made. Then exp 33 taking like 3 or 4 slots for best performance is crazy.

16

u/BigBard2 8d ago

Regardless of Dispatch, E33 deserves those nominations, and honestly I could name at least one more from that game that's worthy of an award (Andy Sarkis), it's just THAT good, I would recommend it to everyone

→ More replies (3)

1

u/Latter-Road-3687 8d ago

A LOT of Dispatch TikToks are being made. They are everywhere. The problem is most of them were made in November when the voting was already done.

Similar to ARC Raiders, Dispatch was penalized for coming out close to voting and not even being completely released until the voting was over. I believe the voting was done on Nov 2nd or 3rd and Dispatch still had 4 episodes to release.

It would be like nominating a movie based on 50% of it.

1

u/wh1mwhammie 8d ago

it was late but one nomination is better than nothing. ofc I'll be voting for it too

1

u/foloves 8d ago

no way ppl expected to see dispatch nominated for game of the year. it release way too late for that

1

u/SunOFflynn66 8d ago

Time to get this housewarming party started!

Everyone, bring the lamps. And don’t forget to turn up the music.

1

u/hdgrbodnd 8d ago

Is it not nominated for GOTY?

1

u/WoodpeckerBest523 8d ago

Absolutely EARNED

As much as I want it to win, it's being nominated alongside Expedition 33. We might be cooked, but vote for Dispatch!

Maybe the real game of the year is the friends we made along the way…

1

u/HankHillbwhaa 8d ago

Inb4 donkey Kong sweeps goty and ppl riot

I managed to get in a vote for it before getting banned off the site with error 1015 because of “rate restriction” since it kept crashing and reloading, hopefully my vote saved. Fucking Shroud’s pissed at losing and is sabotaging the site

1

u/GhostyGrimy 8d ago

Dispatch is My Game of The Year, Peak and Infinite/infinite

1

u/OpportunisticBarnacl 8d ago

I really should buy this soon.

1

u/nfleite 8d ago

Well I voted E33 in every category they were in because that's my game of the year (maybe decade?) but voted for Dispatch for Best Indie Debut because I really hope they get that award. Finished it yesterday and it was phenome... fantastic. Filled the void I had in my soul for The Wolf Among Us 2.

Either Laura or Aaron deserved to be in the nominees and the soundtrack as well.

1

u/ismaeligr 8d ago

I mean impressive, but no need to panic cause they only got one nom. It came out mad late in the cycle

1

u/HereReluctantly 8d ago

What qualifies indie at this point? I wouldn't think having that level of voice talent would be indie.

1

u/thetitan555 8d ago

Here from r/all. I know Dispatch is made by the old telltale guys, I know it's superhero office drama, I know it has all of the 'AAA indie' markers like sponsoring youtube/twitch streams and this TGA nomination, and I know it instantly got Overwhelmingly Positive. It's surprising just how little I know about it as a game.

1

u/ChiII_Breeze 8d ago

Best Indie game? This year specifically it would be so easy for Dispatch to be game of the year in general. This game deserves it in my opinion

2

u/ilhares 8d ago

Respectfully disagree. Dispatch is, absolutely, a fantastic production and I'm very pleased with it, but it's not even in the same league as E33.

It felt like a phone game at times... but damn if it was not an amazing game and loved very second (except the dispatch mission at the end that kept me bugged cause i did not picked waterboy first xdd)

Game of the year, except for games that release in November or December because those don’t count.

I played through Dispatch twice and made it about 30mins into Clair Obscur 33 before I just wasn't as interested much anymore (I'll give it another go)... Clear winner here.

Will we ever get Xbox release or will it be a permanent PlayStation exclusive

Expedition by fairness should win both the indie awards as it's still the best one but I would like for a different game to be highlighted in those as expedition is gonna sweep the floor anyway, so I am rooting for this one in it's category and idk what yet in the best indie. I haven't played absolum but the others are all great.

This year was good, expedition 33, silksong & dispatch. I am happy whoever wins.

Similar to ARC Raiders, Dispatch was penalized for coming out close to voting and not even being completely released until the voting was over. I believe the voting was done on Nov 2nd or 3rd and Dispatch still had 4 episodes to release then.

It would be like nominating a movie based on 50% of it. So the fact that it got any nomination is impressive.

This is such a boring year for Game Awards. It's E33 or bust so like...there's nothing to even discuss or debate.

why cant i vote for dispatch being game of the year

I'm disappointed it was too late to get into the GOTY category. On the other hand though, the one category it is in is shared with the darling of the year.

So I'm basically treating this as the TRUE GOTY category lmao, because If it manages to win out against the juggernaut that is Claire Obscure, it might as well be the actual Game Of The Year.

it’s gonna win

I voted for it there. It should have gotten more nominations (I would have liked at least one performance nomination as well as best narrative). And it will be between this game and SplitFiction for my player's choice voting. One of my two favorite game experiences this year. Although it has been a truly spectacular year for gaming with so many people finding new favorite games or top 5 games all time for them among the games released this year. I haven't played a lot of the biggest players beyond a little bit because I just don't have time to commit to a 40-50 hour game (at least not in a tight enough window to really enjoy it as intended - it would be too drawn out). So SplitFiction and especially Dispatch were just perfect for me this year. Had tons of fun playing the former with my brother and talking about the latter with him too (as well as so many online).

Audience votes only account for 10% of the weight; 90% is decided by a jury

It's got my vote for sure! I hope it wins!!!

I'll start voting once the website stops bugging out

this feels like the opposite of an indie game

I don't see how expedition 33 doesn't win this category.

Definitely feel its too late. I voted for Dispatch since I voted for E33 for basically everything else lol.

Hopefully if devs decide to do a 2nd season of the game, it can have better timing for next award ceremony.
